For one hour, the world goes dim. Your inner life comes forward, and you write—letters, journal entries, prayers, plans, fragments of a book, or the truth you’ve been avoiding.
Quiet company: choosing depth over noise
You are not alone. You are writing in the company of others who are also choosing depth over noise, intention over drift, and soul over speed.For one hour, twice a day, you have a place to belong and to return to. The world is exceptionally good at filling every empty space with notifications, opinions, news, algorithms, work, errands, and other people's needs. Payment
Payment is required at the time of booking. The Paper Abbey offers the following options.➔ Visitor: $20 for single-day pass (AM and PM Abbey Hour)➔ Resident: $100 per month; includes unlimited Abbey Hour gatherings while your membership is active. Cancellation of your membership ends booking eligibility at the end of your current month.
Cancellation & refunds
Abbey Hour reservations are refundable up to 24 hours before the gathering. After that, there are no refunds for cancellations or missed gatherings. There are no refunds on Visitor / day passes.Resident memberships are refundable within two (2) days of joining. After that, memberships are non-refundable for the current membership period. You may cancel at any time to prevent your membership from renewing.
Abbey rules of conduct
Act here like you would in a chapel.That means:Quiet, please.➔ Everyone is muted on entry, and mics remain off.➔ Chat is set to host-only so that participants are not distracted while trying to write or reflect.➔ Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. If there is a lot of activity and commotion from your video feed, it will be turned off for the duration of the gathering.➔ There will be a brief opening to set the intent for the hour, the bell will ring, and the hour of dedicated silence will begin. In the last few minutes of the hour, there will be a parting message, and the gathering will end.No recording, please.Anyone who repeatedly disregards these rules will be asked to leave, at the discretion of the host or facilitator, without refund.

A Resident may receive ongoing access while their Resident subscription remains active.We may maintain separate records or communication lists for Visitors, Residents, and former customers in order to administer access and communications.

Where required, promotional or marketing emails will include an appropriate method for unsubscribing.Unsubscribing from marketing email does not necessarily stop transactional or service-related communications that are necessary to administer a purchase, subscription, or Abbey Hour registration.

Abbey Hour gatherings may be conducted using Zoom, Whereby, Google Meet, or another virtual meeting platform.When you participate in an Abbey Hour, the meeting provider may collect information associated with your participation, such as your name, email address, device information, meeting information, and technical or diagnostic information.Depending on the settings used for a particular gathering, features such as participant names, chat, audio, video, or other meeting functionality may be available to participants.Please be mindful of the information you choose to disclose during a live gathering.The Paper Abbey does not guarantee the privacy of information that you voluntarily disclose to other participants during an Abbey Hour.
